Beyoncé Talks New Renaissance Act I Album Cover Artwork
On the heels of Break My Soul release success Beyoncé blesses us with the album artwork for Renaissance Act 1
Beyoncé has shared the staple cover artwork for "Renaissance," her seventh studio collection, which is expected July 29.
The work of art shows Beyoncé riding a shining, silver pony, her face went to the camera. Uncovering the cover through Instagram, she made sense of the collection's creation and what she wanted to achieve.
“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” she wrote Thursday. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.
I hope you find joy in this music,” she continued. “I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
It appears horse symbolism may be a running subject for Beyoncé. Her new collection cover is like the way that she was styled for her new British Vogue cover, in which she rode a red pony while wearing a dark body suit.
In August, Beyoncé presented with a dark pony for Harper's Bazaar, and in July 2020 she sat on a white pony in the "Black Is King" film. A few fans are attracting equals to the four horsemen of the end of the world — whose tones are white, red, dark and pale (representing success, war, starvation and passing, individually).
The extensive lead-up is a takeoff from the unexpected idea of her beyond a few collections — her self-named discharge (2013), "Lemonade" (2016) and the joint collection with her better half, Jay-Z, "Everything is Love" (2018) — all of which showed up all of a sudden.
In front of the arrival of "Renaissance," Beyoncé prodded fans last week with "Break My Soul," a bop that Times pundit Mikael Wood considered "a pounding 1990s-style house jam."
