USA list on Monday morning (August 21). According to Chart Data, "Paint The Town Red" is the first rap song by a solo female artist to reach the #1 place on Spotify, with 1.29 million streams since its August 4 release.

According to Spotify, their Top 50 - USA ranking is updated daily based on "the most played tracks right now" on the app in the United States. Other songs in the top five on Monday were Oliver Anthony's soaring but divisive track "Rich Men North of Richmond," Gunna's "fukumean," Morgan Wallen's "Last Night," and Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer."

As the second pre-released single for the controversial singer-rapper's next studio album Scarlet, "Paint The Town Red" debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. According to Doja's recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, the record would emphasize her rapping talent rather than the lovely pop sound she's focused on previous releases. This, however, does not imply that she intends to relinquish her melodic tendencies totally.

“This new album is more introspective, but I’m not leaning so hard into that to where it becomes boring,” she relayed. “So I want to give stories and bops. It’s a nice mixture of both… I think this project is a really fun canvas for me to play with my rap skills and talk about what’s going on in my life. But I’m not abandoning who I was and what I know about pop and singing and that aspect of music.”

"Paint The Town Red" followed two months after Scarlet's lead single "Attention," in which Doja demonstrated her commitment to hip-hop. However, on both of the aforementioned tracks, she has seamlessly blended pop elements into the recordings, ensuring that the move from her past work to now is smooth.
