Doja Cat is off the Chain & Nicotine in 'Demons' Music Video with Sickening Visuals

Doja Cat's music video for her most recent hit, "Demons," shows her overcoming her demons as well as Christina Ricci's.

Doja stalks Ricci throughout "Demons," dressed entirely in black, even down to the tips of her razor-cut stilettos. Ricci is most known for playing Wednesday in "The Addams Family" in 1991. Ricci's family rapidly discovers that the new house they had high expectations for is really haunted by a diabolical being known as Doja Cat.

Doja switches up her beloved pop sound from "Say So" for a more rap-centric vibe in the song, a change she previously announced she would be making on her future album. Doja gushed about getting to "rap again" on "Vegas," which garnered her a Grammy award for best rap performance.

"I went in and I was like, 'Finally, I get to rap again,'" she recalled. As she says, "A lot of people discredit me, so it's nice to just put another one in the fucking bucket for a great rap song," which is exactly what she's done with "Demons."

Doja's upcoming album "Scarlet," which is scheduled to be released on September 22nd, has "Demons" as its most recent single. It comes after her previously released songs "Attention" and "Paint the Town Red," the latter of which contributed to her earning five nominations at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, where she will perform (including best video of the year and artist of the year).

Doja will also star in "The Victoria's Secret World Tour," which will debut on Prime Video on September 26 and is split into a fashion show and a documentary about the lingerie company. Doja promised Harper's Bazaar that her future album will provide "lots of different energy to songs, plus new sounds that I've never explored before"; this feat was accomplished with "Demons."

Later this autumn, Doja will go on her first-ever headline arena tour across North America, adding to her already full itinerary. Starting on October 31 in San Francisco, "The Scarlet Tour," a 24-date journey, will also make stops in Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and other significant locations. On some dates, the Live Nation-produced events will include support from Ice Spice and Doechii.
