Better 9/11 Pensions are Pending for First Responders; "I haven't seen the bill yet, but as soon as I review it, we'll have an answer," says Gov. Cuomo

Sept. 11 specialists on call and state pols are squeezing Gov. Cuomo to sign a bill giving better annuity advantages to open representatives crippled after Ground Zero salvage and recuperation work. A bill that passed the Legislature in June grows the World Trade Center Disability Law to incorporate nonuniformed responders.
“We have a moral obligation to do this,” state Senate support Jim Gaughran (D-Suffolk) revealed to The Post, contending that formally dressed responders, for example, cops and firemen, are secured, however others, for example, travel laborers and structural architects, are forgotten about.
“They all breathed the same toxic air and touched the same toxic stuff,” Gaughran said. Taking all things together, 610 individuals with wounds or sicknesses legitimately identified with 9/11 cleanup have just documented an application for the advantages, and the expense is assessed at $320,000 per individual.
The new candidates would be qualified for handicap annuity advantages adding up to 75 percent of their last normal compensation. “I haven’t seen [the bill] yet, but as soon as I review it, we’ll have an answer,” Cuomo said in Manhattan on Monday.
